Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is conducting joint research projects with Yale University and other renowned academic institutions eager to study and learn from THE AGENCY’S successes. In addition, psychiatric fellows from North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center and Nassau University Medical Center are coming to Nassau BOCES’ programs to do their residencies in pediatric psychiatry. College Courses for Special Education Students... Nassau BOCES introduced an innovative initiative that helps special education students to earn college credit while preparing them for the world of higher education.  

Partnering with Farmingdale State College’s “University in the High School,” Nassau BOCES now provides dual-enrollment opportunities for special needs high school students. Currently Nassau BOCES seven dual credit classes are offered.
