Long Island High School for the Arts welcomes Latin performer Celeste Lanuza
As part of its Master Class program, filmmaking students at the Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA) welcomed the multi-talented Celeste Lanuza to their school recently.
Lanuza is considered a performing artist “quadruple threat:” She is a songwriter, recording artist, keyboard player, choreographer and a Latin pop singer. She is working with LIHSA’s filmmaking class to create a video for her upcoming song, “Dulce Obsesion” (Sweet Obsession). The students pitched their script ideas to Lanuza, who will approve the final theme for the video, and star in the video that the students will film and direct. Lanuza is also bringing in a couple of professional dancers for the project.
“I was so impressed with how they understood my vision for the video,” said Lanuza. “I want to send a bigger message with this song, and they ran with it. I’m looking forward to working with them on this!”
The Master Class program is part of the school’s ongoing mission to provide its students with an inside look at the industries they are pursuing, and to introduce them to mentors within their chosen field.
