As a registered nurse and human resources professional with nearly 30 years of diverse work experience, Lauren Pearson is at the forefront of her industry, creating pipelines of talent into the healthcare system. Manager of Workforce Readiness at Northwell Health, she oversees internships and specialized student programs, collaborating with industry and education partners, empowering students to pursue careers that maximize their individual strengths and fit the region’s workforce needs.

Ms. Pearson has been a tireless advocate for students across Long Island and throughout New York State. She has used her substantial influence at Northwell Health to create internship opportunities within numerous career paths, including Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Patient and Customer Experience, Development & Philanthropy, Culinary fields, and the Bridges program, which is dedicated to strengthening community partnerships.

Ms. Pearson serves on school-tocareer advisory boards for several school districts, cultivating educational partnerships based on student needs. She is the driving force behind the development of a number of healthcare competitions designed to engage students in medical research and career awareness.

The Northwell Health Spark! Challenge is an opportunity for students to shadow healthcare professionals and learn about their occupations. The students then present their work at the annual awards competition. In the past four years, more than 2,000 students have participated in the challenge, partnering with over 150 Northwell Health teams.

Ms. Pearson is a member of New York’s Empire State STEM Leadership Committee, Long Island’s STEM Hub Leadership Team and the Long Island Regional Industry Council for Healthcare. These vital institutions meet regularly to develop programs that will help prepare students for the healthcare Industry.
