Joshua has shown great passion to pursue his academic goals and help those around him. He is one of the few students chosen to be part of the Nassau BOCES Early College High School Program at Nassau Community College. He was accepted to the program as a junior and is currently finishing his senior year of high school with five college credits. He is completing his high school requirements and has passed all his NYS Regents exams. He will continue his educational career at NCC next year, majoring in computer science.

Joshua is fully focused on achieving high academic grades: He maintains an A average in his high school courses and has GPA of 4.0 at NCC! Outside of school, Joshua focuses on his musical career; he is an avid guitar and piano player. He is also focused on his goal of reaching independence as he finishes up his driver’s education courses. Joshua greets everyone with a smile and a handshake. He is a loyal friend and is always seen supporting and encouraging his peers as well as helping his teachers. He volunteers on Fridays by going room to room taking lunch orders, collecting money, distributing change and placing the orders to the pizza parlor. He participates in Positive Fridays by dressing according to the week’s theme. At NCC, he participates in the volunteer fair where he helps prepare meals for the homeless. Joshua is actively involved in his local church, has recently performed a piano concert that the Long Island Conservatory, and helps his neighbors with shoveling, raking and taking out the trash.
