Emily is a hardworking student that has learned to increase her use of strategies in order to cope with frustration, as well as how to express herself. Emily is often seen as a role model and is willing to accept help from staff to learn about her behavior strategies to help her cope and has the desire to use these strategies independently. Emily has shown great progress in her academics. Her reading comprehension as well as fluency has increased significantly. Emily continues to strive to do her best academically, completing all her assignments as well as using her free time to make up work she has missed during absences or related services. Emily is a true role model in her class. She is often helping other students as a “perspective buddy,” helping them use their strategies and reminding them to see things positively. In addition, Emily follows school rules, acts in a safe manner and continues to grow in accepting responsibility for her choices. Emily is honest, cares about the success of others and often shares a smile with younger students in the building. Emily works hard to be a member of the school’s community. She often helps staff and students with daily organizing and works as a peer tutor. She brings joy to others by showing kindness to all students and staff. This year, Emily was elected as Student Council President. She is also a Girl Scout and a member of the Art Club and Chorus.
