2023 George Farber Outstanding Student Award Honoree
Endy Morales
Rosemary Kennedy School (District-based) | Hempstead UFSD
Endy is enthusiastic about learning new things and sharing that knowledge with his classmates. He is responsible and reliable, and often serves as a leader in the classroom. His talent and interest in technology led to him being appointed the class Technology Assistant. It’s his job to ensure that the iPads have all the appropriate software updates and are charged and ready for student use. He also helps manage the classroom grow lab, where he and his classmates are cultivating herbs for use in the Culinary, Hospitality and Applied Management Program at their neighboring school, John F. Kennedy High School in Bellmore-Merrick CHSD.
Endy has an outstanding talent for food preparation. This year, he is mastering a number of food service skills through his job at a local restaurant, where he has earned a leadership role in the prep kitchen and is training other students. He has taken part in a number of service projects as well, helping those who are less fortunate. He assisted in the design, baking and decorating of jumbo gingerbread cookies for a holiday raffle to raise money for charity. He has also helped package Thanksgiving dinners for families in need and taken part in food collection for a local pantry.
