Digital Accessibility & Equal Access Statement

Nassau BOCES is committed to providing equitable access to its programs, services, activities and communications for all individuals, including people with disabilities. We value inclusive access as part of our responsibility to serve students, families, staff and community partners.

In alignment with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable New York State accessibility requirements, Nassau BOCES works to make digital content and technology usable by individuals with a wide range of abilities. This includes websites, documents, forms, instructional materials, online platforms, videos, virtual meetings and other digital communications.

Our ongoing efforts focus on:

• Designing digital content that works well with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.
• Providing captions, transcripts, alternative text and readable document formats when appropriate.
• Using accessible templates and tools to support consistent practices across departments.
• Training staff on accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Reviewing and improving digital content over time as technology and standards evolve.

While we continue this work, some content — particularly older materials or third-party platforms — may not yet fully meet current accessibility standards. We welcome feedback and work collaboratively to address access barriers when they are identified.
